چکیده

Reid, I. S. (1973). Archives of Disease in Childhood, 48, 952. Biliary tract abnormalities associated with duodenal atresia. The embryology of the duodenum and biliary tracts makes understandable those developmental abnormalities of the biliary tract that occur in association with duodenal atresia. In a series of 167 patients with intrinsic duodenal obstruction, a number also showed anomalies of the distal common bile duct, and these form the subject of this communication. The clinical importance of stenosis of the distal common bile duct seen in duodenal atresia and stenosis is stressed; operative intervention in the region may result in complete biliary obstruction. 3 patients in the series had agenesis of the gallbladder in association with duodenal atresia, an association not previously recognized.

Duodenal atresia with an anomalous common bile duct masquerading as a midgut volvulus.

In a patient with duodenal atresia, a "double bubble" is classically present on plain radiographs. When bowel gas exists distal to the duodenum, duodenal atresia often is excluded from the differential diagnosis. The authors present a case in which contrast can be seen in the small bowel and biliary system on upper gastrointestinal series in a patient with duodenal atresia and an anomalous comm...

Duodenal Atresia and Stenosis

Introduction Congenital duodenal obstruction may be due to intrinsic or extrinsic lesions. Intrinsic duodenal obstruction may be caused by duodenal atresia, stenosis, diaphragm with or without perforation, or by a wind-sock web or membrane that balloons distally. Extrinsic duodenal obstruction may be caused by malrotation with Ladd’s bands or a preduodenal portal vein or annular pancreas. The a...

The cause(s) of biliary atresia remain unclear and many surgical options for bypassing the atretic segment have been described.1-3 Biliary atresia may be associated with small bowel atresia.  The surgical interventions for biliary dr...

Gallbladder Duplication Associated with Duodenal Atresia

Gallbladder duplication is an extremely rare anomaly. Association of gall bladder agenesis with duodenal atresia and biliary atresia has been described. However, association of gall bladder duplication with duodenal atresia hasn't been described so far; we report a case in view of its rarity.
